Bixter acts on a legal basis in its recruitment activities by connecting employers in need of well educated, experienced, motivated, and stable workers with young English speaking professionals from over 29 countries worldwide, who possess relevant work experience and completed relevant education on minimum Bachelor’s degree level.

The Norwegian Migration Service has developed a visa category for Non-EU nationals as work and residence permit, under the category of “Skilled Worker”. These regulations allow experienced professionals  from Non-EU countries to work in Norway with extension possibilities for their visas.

This option is intended for professionals with proven relevant experience from 1 year duration, completed university degrees, sufficient English level to continue their professional development via work and residence permit in Norway.

Hereby, Bixter promotes this opportunity to trainees, who completed their traineeship in Europe with outstanding recommendations and to experienced international professionals with the help of international agents in Non-EU countries.

It is important to note that the average waiting period for the arrival of an employee is typically around 4 months. This is primarily due to the mandatory visa processing time. Waiting time for work and residence permit remains the same even if an employee applies for the visa from Norway.

Please note that employees from Non-EU countries aren’t allowed to start working until the appropriate work and residence permit is issued to your place.

As a result, it is crucial for companies to plan ahead and account for this waiting period when organizing their recruitment process. By taking a pragmatic approach and considering the necessary visa processing time, companies can ensure that they are able to receive qualified workers in a timely manner, while also adhering to all relevant regulations and procedures.

The rules about working hours in Norway are governed by the Working Environment Act. Employees typically work 37,5 – 40 hours per week, with a possibility to take overtime working hours.Overtime is usually limited to 10 hours per week and 25 hours over a four-week period. Overtime pay or time off in lieu is typically provided for overtime work. It’s important for the employer to follow rules about maximum working hours, rest breaks, and night work.

In order to host Non-EU employees, adequate living conditions need to be provided by employers for a monthly rent. The rent needs to be affordable for the employees, as they will be paying it from their monthly salary.
