The need for healthcare workers (nurses, nurse assitants, caregivers for elderly people), particularly from non-EU countries, has been slowly increasing to cover the gaps that are seen in the health system of Denmark, caused by an aging population, increased demand for healthcare, and a shortage of local professionals.

These professionals, who possess degrees and diplomas from their home countries in nursing or eldercare, have demonstrated English language proficiency, and have a minimum of two years of formal work experience, are guided through the steps needed to secure work and residence permits in Denmark and acquire Danish language skills.
